Why not make your base here, and discover some of the delights of this unspoilt area. You can go walking across Exmoor National Park, go fishing or surfing, play a round or two of golf, take a stroll along the North Devon and Somerset coastal path, or take one of the many ships from Ilfracombe harbour that visit the magical Lundy Island.
Well worth a visit are picturesque Lynton and Lynmouth, the fabulous surf beaches at Woolacombe, Croyde, and Putsborough.
Also Clovelly, one of the most famous villages in the world, where cars are replaced by donkeys on the high street, and Barnstaple, England's oldest borough, with its pannier market and collection of eclectic boutiques.
There are also magnificent gardens and National Trust properties nearby to visit, such as Marwood Hill, RHS gardens at Rosemoor near Torrington, or Arlington House near Barnstaple. Within a short distance of Ilfracombe there are many local theme parks and attractions, which are always a favourite with the children. Also here in Ilfracombe we have our own superb Tunnels Beaches at the end of Torrs Park for safe bathing and rock pool exploring. Plus The Landmark Theatre, with programmes featuring a mix of comedy, drama and music.
